Fish Anatomy

A Special Activity and Article in One!

Fish are alot like humans and other animals. They have internal and external anatomy. Remember, anatomy means body parts. Fish have both internal (inside) and external (outside) body parts. In a previous issue, we we explored the external parts of a fish.

The internal parts of a fish can tell us a lot about how a fish lives. For example, a fih's gills help it breathe, much like our lungs help us breathe. A fish's swim bladder helps it keep its balance and change its depth in the water.

To find out more about some of the internal body parts of fish read the anatomy boxes below. Use the clues to match each box to the correct part. Check your answers next issue.
