Worm Farming Saves Money

I feed my worm's oatmeal that has been put into a blender. It should have the constancy of powder. Sprinkle the powder on top of the bedding, and moisten with a sprayer. Worms eat grass naturally by pulling the shoots down into their holes and feeding. Lawn scraps may contain high levels of bacteria, which could contaminate the entire bed. It should never be used for feeding or sheltering worms from sunlight and heat.

At the end of the season the leftover worms always go back to the ground from which they came from. Do this before it gets too cold. You can always seed ground that doesn't have many worms. Just spread them out in the grass at night. Wait until a good rain, or water a flower garden for several hours before doing this. The worms will have an easier time digging down After a few years of doing this, there will be an endless supply of them.

If you plan to keep the worms all year round, remember to keep them in a place that is still cool, but won't freeze, and remember to feed them once and awhile.

I know this has saved me allot of money over the years, and has also given me a certain level of satisfaction. I get all of my picking down within three or four nights, depending on weather conditions.

If the picking of worms sounds like too much work, or you can't physically do the picking yourself; you might want to consider contacting a worm farmer and buying a flat or two of worms. I hope these tips have helped, so go pick some worms, and keep that extra money for a new rod or new tackle.. Happy Worm Farming!
