THE RULES:
Like any form of fishing, there are generally government-controlled rules and regulations regarding ice-fishing. Before you go out on the ice, make sure that you are fully aware of the species that are in season, and the equipment that is allowed to be used, including what type and how much. In some areas, we've heard of being able to use as many as 7 lines at one time. On the other hand, some lakes are shut down completely by the government where no fishing of any sort may take place over the winter.
