These are the neatest devices for winter fishing. First: the trap is a sleigh, Second: it's a equipment box, Third: it's a ice fishing hut (which sets up in about twenty seconds). Dave Genze calls his style of fishing "Gun and Run Ice Fishing". The reasoning behind the Gun and Run slogan is to keep moving until you locate fish, and this is the idea behind the Trap. It's quick and easy to move your equipment, as you search for fish. Keep in mind that when you are gunning and running, it would be a real good idea to use a good quality sonar (I use Bottom Line sonars). A sonar unit can help you locate crappies faster than by drilling holes and fishing them for ten to fifteen minutes. Check this little beauty out it's a great system Read my article on "RUN AND GUN ICE FISHING", featuring the "The Fish Trap" next October. You might want to put "The Fish Trap" on your WISH LIST for next winter. |

However this winter wasn't a complete washout. I got in some good walleye fishing and was introduced to "The Fish Trap". What is "The Fish Trap", you ask? Is it some sort of net to catch fish, or maybe a great new device for trapping fish? NO. A Fish Trap is the latest portable fish hut from U.S.L. Products, designed by Dave Genze.
