HabitatBroadly distributed throughout the United States and Mexico, bullheads tend to appear only in the southern portions of Ontario, and laterally across Canada east to the Maritimes and west to Saskatchewan. Some introductions into British Columbia have established small populations there as well. They are extremely hardy, adapting equally well to freshwater lakes, ponds, and sluggish streams with mud bottom, with or without vegetation. They love to stay in great lumbers below small dams, as well. |
