Let's Talk Fishing - Q & A

That's the reason why we fished where we did and not on a windswept point or shoreline. If the wind had been on that shoreline, we would have probably found our fish much more shallow -- like we did during pre-fishing -- but we had the presence of mind and experience to drop back to the first break when we couldn't locate them where they had been for us a couple of days earlier.

If the wind had been blowing on the opposite shoreline for a couple of days, then even these fish might have moved. But because the wind had just changed directions that morning, there was no need for them to have moved so soon.

There can always be exceptions to the rules. Don't take everything you read as verbatim. Things can change and that's where your own past experience comes into play. Take what you can out of any article you read and expound upon it. But, remember that what you do read, whether it be from myself or anyone else, is from actual on the water experience.
