Pete Pokulok of Let's Talk Fishing answers a question about where to catch late-summer, early-fall bass on Lake Simcoe in Otario, Canada.

Question: I apologize for not remembering the fella's name that came up to me at the Orillia Fall Bass Challenge this past Sept. but we had just weighed in 26.73 lbs of smallmouth for 6 fish, and I wasn't totally coherent at the time. He started asking me questions on how and where we caught all of our fish, but I was still in shock from the astronomical day that Todd Million and I had had on the waters of Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching.

L.T.F. I remembered he started off by introducing himself and telling me that the buddy he was fishing with was from Blind River, and that he had faxed him some of the questions and answers that appeared in previous issues of The Fishing Network Web-zine; and that in one particular article that I wrote, I had stated that if I had my choice of fishing a particular pattern under windy conditions, it would be wind swept points or shorelines.

Well on that spectacular day that we had back in September, I told him we had caught our fish on the calm side of the lake. His first response was that our location was the exact opposite to what I had advised in the article, and wanted to know if all that we had written in the past was BS. In other words, why were we fishing there and not on the windy side of the lake?
