EQUIPMENT
One only has to visit local tackle shops to realize that equipment options can be vast and confusing. Rods are available in different lengths, actions, compositions, and types. And what about reels? Where do you start? There's baitcasting, spinning, spincast, and trolling categories as well as a multitude of sizes and component qualities. And one would think that line would be fairly straightforward, but it isn't. There's different pound-test ratings, different colors, different stiffness, and that's just talking monofilament! Then you get to the endless sizes, colors, and so on of lures!
To make things worse, most of the equipment available today has been manufactured for a specific purpose and job. Make the wrong choice, especially for walleye, and "difficult" may become an unwanted but frequent description of your angling efforts; that is, unless "impossible" works its way in first. Don't despair; there's a clear, uncomplicated way to outfit yourself or adapt what you've got for walleye fishing.
