ANGLING EXPERIMENTATION

Don't overlook deep fish. When shallow fish are uncooperative, the deep fish will usually school more tightly and be more receptive. Deepwater fishing, a new frontier in Canadian waters, has seen very little intelligent fishing pressure because of anglers' lack of confidence in succeedlMg in the task at hand. Confidence in a certain technique, a certain area, or a certain lure can only be achieved through experience. Gain confidence in all facets of walleye fishing, and you're well on your way to becoming a versatile and adaptable angler ... and that's the true key to fishing success.

However, whether you're angling in shallow or deep waters, the most efficient manner of bait presentation for the situation is based on a number of factors, the most important being: apply what you've learned about walleye behavior and its various environments to on-the-water situations and the results will show on the end of your line. Fish on!
