When it comes to boats there are many that will do for walleye fishing. The most ideal rig capable of doing it all would incorporate the following features: for shallow fish or nontrolling approaches -- an electric trolling motor on the bow allows proper boat control, and a raised casting platform will make targets easier to see and to cast to; for deep water -- an electric on the transom makes backtrolling possible when using a live bait rig under calm conditions, and an outboard, if equipped with a tiller handle, should allow flexibility for forward- and backtrolling in rougher situations.
