Quick Quip...A Shore Thing... As autumn approaches, give shore fishing a try. Many fish congregate in the shallows at this time of year, searching out big meals to store up energy for the oncoming winter. Even big walleyes will move up into shallow bays and flats in search of protein!
What's New...We've moved much of the system from our ISP's Server to ours to speed up development and publishing time. If you experience any serious degradation in the performance of TFN, or find some broken links, please notify us at

Thanks.
Last issue we reported that we would soon have a weather page up. Well, it is on it's way, but because we're going through official channels and television networks to get up to the minute info, it's taking a bit longer than we expected to get it together.
This Issue...Indeed no, you did not miss the August issue. We decided not to publish for two reasons;
- Many of you were out fishing and not on the Net (we know, we have the stats), and
- We were out fishing and not on the Net (we know, because we're a bit more relaxed now).
In any case, TFN is back (actually we never left), and we're resuming our bi-weekly web-zine issues.
Comment...I know that this has absolutely nothing to do with fishing, but sometimes you have to take a moment away from the usual to acknowledge the achievements of extraordinary individuals. Diana, Princess of Wales was such a person. Her tireless work on behalf of the suffering in the world was an inspiration to us all, and her leadership in championing charitable causes will not easily be replaced. The senseless and tragic way in which she died should remind us not only of the frailty of human existence, but that the quality of that existence is just as important.
The next time you go fishing, take a moment to look around you; breathe the air, watch the birds, listen to the water, and be thankful of the often-overlooked bounty nature offers us while we pursue our favourite quarry.
Even if you don't catch any fish, would you rather be doing anything else?
Until next issue...
(tight lines, get it wet, good fishin', see you on the water, etc., etc.).
