Well, last month I started out with "Hoo-Hah! It's Spring!", and finnished with "I'm going fishing!". Outside of a trip to Mexico, where I managed to hook into a blowfish, I didn't get any fishing done. In fact, here in Ontario, Canada, one would be hard-pressed to assume that spring had even arrived, given the record low temperatures and snow. And to top it all, I was too busy working on this site to get out even for an afternoon.

As you have probably noticed, TFN now has its own domain, and we have also changed providers -- this one's faster. We've overhauled much of the system, brightening the graphics while reducing their size, and introducing some Java-script and frames to the system. Overall, I feel we've made it faster, better-looking, and more efficient. Hopefully we also caught most of our older HTML errors, so you'll have an easier time navigating through our hundreds of pages.

Of course, we still don't have the new Forums set up - but we now have 2 people working on them.

We've removed the Bait n' Tackle Shop from the Sportsman's Show for the time being, because we realise that a small mail-order retailer out of Canada cannot compete with the big US houses such as Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's -- so why even try. We'd rather rent space in the Sportsman's Show to those companies that can compete, and to that end, we've already initiated contact.

We've got a couple of new things being worked on, and enough ideas to keep us programming for the next 3 years. But if you have specific ideas of what you would like us to add, let us know. After all, we're not mind-readers.

But back to this month's issue. Most of the world is currently in either spring or fall, both seasons resulting in turbulent weather patterns and varying success while fishing. Since our current stable of writers hails from the northern hemisphere, a trend has become evident in their articles. After the long winter we've experienced, there is a feeling optimism reflected in this month's offerings.

I hope that this positive feeling will affect your piscatorial endeavours this season, and, sorry for the cut off, but I have to get back to work so that I can join you on the water shortly.

In the meantime, enjoy the current issue.

Until next month...
(tight lines, get it wet, good fishin', see you on the water, etc., etc.).
