The following tips should give you a good idea of how to plan for your flight. Remember that you can book your trip through our certified on-line travel agency!

Fares and Reservations:

  • For information on specific prices, contact the TFN Travel Network Agency at 1-800-GO-CATCH (462-2824) for a quote
  • Due to competition between airlines, many commercial flights can be found at discounted prices. Sometimes you receive more of a 'bare-bones' approach taken by the airlines to cut costs, but if you're looking for the best price possible, such considerations shouldn't matter.
  • The lowest fares might apply only to certain days of the week. Make sure you're schedule allows for a few changes to maximise your savings.
  • Make sure the price includes the standard amenities and services, such as meals and baggage handling.
  • Plan ahead because not only do the busiest periods sell out first, sometimes only a few seats on the flight may be discounted, and those will be sold at the beginning.
  • Occasionally new discounts are introduced by airlines. Check to see if one applies to your ticket - you may get a partial refund!
  • Will your ticket be refundable, or is there a penalty for cancellation?
  • Find out whether or not the airline will replace lost or stolen tickets.
  • Check to see if another airline will honour your ticket if you become stranded.
  • Make sure you find out if the price of your reservation could increase closer to departure.
  • Make sure that the name you use for the booking is the same as that on the identification that you will be taking with you - whether just a driver's license, or your passport.
  • Check with your agent for the accuracy of all the information you give him/her, including all spelling, times, dates and other numbers.
  • Make sure of your exact routing and itinery to confirm your booking and any transfers that you may have to make.
  • It's generally wise to pay for your tickets by credit card due to the refund protection. However, if your plans change, any refunds may take longer to come through.
  • Don't lose your tickets! Although you have been booked, the tickets are negotiable items and you may have to purchase a second ticket at full cost for each one you lost. Airlines will try to sort it out afterwards, but there is no guaranty that you'll get a refund for those you lost.
