Quick Quip...Reviving Broken Rods Every summer, thousands of fishing rods get broken. It's merely part of life as an angler. So what do you do with those broken tips? Throw them away? Heck no! rod tips make a great source for ice-fishing rods and switches! Simply file down the jagged edge of the broken tip, and you can either attach a grip to it, or just run your ice-fishing line through it. When you get that lunker on, the give of the rod will increase your hook-catch ratio!
What's New...Well, there is a new wrinkle this time around. If you have a fishing page on the WWW, make sure you join the new TFN Fishing Ring. TFN receives tens of thousands of visitors each month, and Ring Members will benefit by having more traffic directed to their sites!
In the next couple of weeks, we'll be announcing our new TB2 (Trophy Bass 2) person to take over the administration and coordination of the tournaments.
This Issue...In Volume 3, Issue 4, we introduce a new feature, the TFN Book of the Month Column, featuring good books and even better deals available from the TFN Bookshop, in association with Amazon.com Books. This month, one of the originals - The Compleat Angler - 350 years old and still going strong! Of course, we also have the usual great information, and in particular, I have written an article about an incident that occurred here in Ontario late last spring, involving a tourist-angler, an indigenous person and a gun.
Comment...Thanks to all of you who responded to my survey last issue on "To Buy or Not to Buy".
Needless to say, there were NO horror stories about anyone's credit card number being stolen.
Other than the above, I'm going to remain quiet this time. So enjoy the issue, and let me know if there's something else you'd like to see at TFN.
Until next issue...
(tight lines, get it wet, good fishin', see you on the water, etc., etc.).
