This is for You, so get interactive!Posted by sbinnie in thefishingnetworkcom, the fishing network, tfn |
One month down, and many, many more to go. Thoughts abound about what TFN can be. So we'll keep adding to the site as new ideas present themselves.
One of the most exciting characteristics of the Internet is it's inherent interactivity. One of the greatest attractions to the Net is how geographic and political boundaries disappear. But, in order forus all to learn more and get the most out of this incredible new medium, we must all learn to participate, not simply observe.
To be honest, creating and editing TFN is not only a labour of love, it's pretty well a full time job. At times, it can also be frustrating. So I'm enlisting your support to help out. Yes, this means YOU!
In the many pages of TFN, you will find a number of instances where interactivity abounds. For example, when we researched the Usenet Newsgroups, we found that there were a number of questions that kept coming up (FAQs?). We believe that by setting up our Custom Discussion Forums, we have created an area for you to communicate with others about more specific topics than generally discussed in Usenet. Bassers can talk to bassers, steelheaders to other steelheaders, and so forth. We even have forums for recipes and buying or selling fishing related equipment.
We have provided contests where you can win prizes to get you more involved. We are now opening our Clubs and Organizations section so that outdoors clubs and conservation organizations from around the world can have a free presence on the Net, complete with their own forums to discuss issues important to them.
In our pursuit to meet your needs we must know what you're thinking. Take a moment to email me with your ideas and comments. TFN can only give you what you want if we know what it is.
So get interACTIVE!
Enjoy your visit, and I hope you'll come back often.
